Bono is known for his charity work, but now it looks like he is going a bit further by collaborating with the Spice girls. According to the Daily Mirror, Bono has written a brand new song for the reuniting Spice Girls and will be included in their upcoming greatest hits album which will also be performed during their world tour.
The album could be released as early as November 5th. And a source explains:
"It might seem unusual with the Spice Girls' pop roots and the much more rockier work of Bono, but it works. There's been a bit of unease as to how the album will perform and if there's still a solid Spice Girls' fanbase out there. However Bono's involvement has lifted the whole camp and he's delighted to have been asked and add his experience."
"Bono is a brilliant musician and is up for the challenge and can pull off any sort of musical style. Expect the unexpected."

George Clooney reportedly sought advice from Bono before he spoke out against the genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan. He apparently wanted to make sure he approached the issue as effectively as possible in order to get public support as well as believe in his intentions. Clooney said:
"We had long conversations... (so) people can't dismiss you as just an entertainer. Bono is very good at putting a laser focus on a specific issue. So when they come at him, whether they like it or not, at least you don't feel like, well, here's some rock 'n' roller just spewing out ideological theories. He sets the bar way, way high."

If you missed U2 on their last tour, you'd soon be able to see them in 3D. The movie was shot in South America during the Vertigo tour.
The film combines camera angles that soar over the audience of up to 80,000, zoom in to within inches of the performers, join them on stage and look back into the stadium.
At one point, U2's lead singer Bono reaches out towards the 3D camera and looks as if he is about to step into the cinema.

Bono & Alicia Keys have joined forces to create the documentary We Are Together about the musical aspirations of children in South Africa's Agape orphanage. They looked great at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere.

Even though Sanjaya is no longer in the competition, make sure to watch American Idol tomorrow night as Bono will appear on the show. He will talk about ONE and the fight against extreme poverty.

The Edge, guitarist for U2, donated his Gibson Les Paul guitar for a charity to raise money to aid the Music Rising which is set up to help those who lost their instruments because of Hurricane Katrina. This guitar that had been seen in U2's live concerts since 1985 was sold for $240,000. The Edge said on the campaign charity's website:"I can't imagine what it must be like to wake up one morning and not have my guitar. Thousands of musicians have lost their instruments in New Orleans. Music Rising is attempting to put the instruments back in their hands."
Other memorabilia sold in the auction included sunglasses owned by: Bono and John Lennon as well as Jimi Hendrix's 1966 Red Fender Mustang guitar which sold for $4000,000. It was mentioned here that The Edge was going to auction off his guitar for the charity, but it's great to know that the charity actually raised quite a bit of funds from all of the music memorabilia donated.

He's awesome isn't he?
