Jonas Brothers Performing on American Idol Finale

The Jonas Brothers are set to perform at next week's American Idol finale. They are going to sing their hit, "S.O.S."

While it is now a battle of the Davids on Idol: Cook vs. Archuleta, I have a feeling both will pale in comparison to Kevin, Nick, and Joe! However, I could totally see Archuleta becoming their fourth member.

Be sure to check it out Wednesday, May 21 @ 8PM ET/PT on FOX. Who are you more excited to see, the Davids or the Jonases?

Simon Cowell Thinks David Cook Should Win

In this boring never ending American Idol season, Simon Cowell thinks (and I must agree with him) that David Cook should win, he told Blender:
"I think he's done more to deserve it over the eleven weeks. He's taken more risks, he's done things with certain songs that have been more interesting. If I'm gonna base it on who has done the best performances over the live shows, David Cook deserves to win."

He also hinted that little David Archuleta has no personality. And again, I will have to agree with him.

Next week is the final two and it is David against David. Who are you for?

American Idol 7 Elimination Results May 14, 2008

Tonight's elimination from American Idol's Top 3 was no surprise.

Syesha Mercado got the boot, but she should be proud that she got as far as she did because I don't think many people thought she would have predicted she'd be in the Top 3.

So it's down to the two David's: David Archuleta and David Cook. My bet is on Cook, but it'll be interesting to watch how it all goes down next week.

Fantasia Barrino Sucked Performing "Bore Me" On American Idol 7

Fantasia Barrino stopped by American Idol tonight to perform her song "Bore Me". She absolutely sucked. It seems like she was screaming and not singing the song! and don't get me started about her dancing.

Just look at Simon Cowell's facial expression during her performance. (fast forward to 2:45)

American Idol 7 Top 3 Were Boring

Tonight American Idol's top three performed three songs each and it was rather boring. I'm not sure what's the point of performing three very short versions of songs when they could have had an opportunity to do one full song each.

I didn't pay close attention to each song so I didn't take down the names of the songs as they were performing them, but there wasn't anything surprising or out of this world about what they did. Basically, it's as everyone had expected weeks ago being down to the two Davids. David Archuleta and David Cook both performed okay and somewhat weak while Syesha Mercado's songs didn't really show off anything interesting. It seemed like she was really trying to show off her sexy side to win some votes though, but it's doubtful it helped any.

American Idol producers need to do something different to save the show, if they want to save it, because it's getting really dull now.

If you missed the Idol wannabes homecoming show, go here.

American Idol Homecoming Show

This week on American Idol is the homecoming show. The contestants went back home. David Cook went back home to Kansas City where he threw out the first pitch at the Kansas City Royals game and also sang “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” during the seventh inning stretch.

Syesha Mercado went home to Tampa where she sang the national anthem at the Tampa Bay Rays game.

And David Archuleta went back to Murray, Utah where he was invited to sing the national anthem at the Utah Jazz vs L.A. Lakers playoff game. Stage daddy Jeff Archuleta must be proud seeing his little David on the big screens at the basketball game.

The people of Chicago were not that lucky over weekend when former American Idol contestant Amanda Overmyer screamed the national anthem before the Cubs game.

Kristy Lee Cook is a Diva

Kristy Lee Cook thinks she's a big star. Too bad no one else does!

Kristy Lee called her local nail salon in Grants Pass, Oregon yesterday to make an appointment. She asked to be sneaked into back door to avoid the crowds of "adoring fans." However, no one there had ever even heard of her, so there weren't any!

Ha, ha, ha! Nobody cares about Kristy Lee Cook...God bless the USA!

Gabber Quote Of The Day

"It's fantastic. Honest to God. I have had zero problems being well-known but not exactly a celebrity. Couldn't care less if someone wants to take my picture"

~Simon Cowell (talks about the attention he gets. Seems like he loves it!)

Jason Castro Sexy In A Kelly Ripa Hairdo

The latest American Idol castoff, Jason Castro, was on Regis and Kelly this morning.
Regis presented him with few options for hairdos but I just can't picture him without the dreads. He does look sexy with Kelly Ripa's hairdo though!

To watch him perform on Regis and Kelly click here and for his performance on Ellen click here

Amanda Overmyer Screams The National Anthem

On Friday American Idol contestant Amanda Overmyer sang the national anthem before the Cubs game at Chicago's Wrigley Field.

I can't believe Amanda even made it to the top 11 of American Idol this year. Listening to her sing the national anthem is painful. In fact, let me rephrase it, listening to her sing is painful.

Even Tony Romo who can't sing sounds better than her!

Jeff Archuleta Lost Idol Backstage Pass

Jeff Archuleta, the stage daddy of little David Archuleta finally lost his American Idol backstage pass.

TMZ is reposting that last week he wanted the producers to allow little David to change the lyrics of the song "Stand By Me".

After weeks of interfering with the entire production and being a pain the ass, the producers finally had enough. Jeff Archuleta was told that he cannot access the rooms where David was learning or rehearsing his songs but he could still be in the audience.

This is probably a big relief for David Arculeta. It is probably hard rehearsing when someone is putting so much pressure at you and constantly yelling at you.

Colin Leahy, American Idol Reject Arrested for Propositioning a Child

A former contestant, Colin Leahy, on American Idol who considered himself similar to Clay Aiken has been arrested for two counts of child endangerment, the DA told TMZ.

The 23-year-old was caught sending sex-laced text messages to a 12-year-old boy and propositioning a ten-year old while volunteering at a Brooklyn elementary school.

EW, how creepy! The pedophile needs to be kept away from children at all costs! I guess it would cost too much to do psychological evaluations on every school volunteer, but it's pretty scary that almost anyone can have access to young kids.

Ryan Seacrest to Replace Larry King

Ryan Seacrest is probably the hardest working person in Hollywood. He has like 50 million jobs! It looks like he's about to add another one to his resume, as he is in talks to replace Larry King on Larry King Live.

Seacrest is a regular substitute for Larry when he's having health problems.

Says a source about Ryan's career, "He's so serious about his career, but like anyone, he wants it to evolve. Hosting ‘Larry King’ would be perfect for him."

All I have to say is, yeah right! Larry King is 400 years old! If he hasn't kicked the bucket or retired yet, he's probably not EVER going to!

American Idol 7 Elimination Results May 7, 2008

Tonight, the Top 4 opened the show with pathetic performances. One could see better productions in a high school theater almost anywhere. I'm not sure why the producers want to fill that time with that because it doesn't help the performers any to be embarrassed in that manner because the choreography looked like it was put together an hour beforehand.

As soon as I heard a few notes of the Beatles "Come Together," I was terrified because I don't think I could endure hearing the American Idol contestants butcher the Beatles again. Ryan Seacrest almost made me choke when he started comparing the Fab Four to the American Idol Top 4. EW! How dare he! I guess he just wanted to connect the Idol wannabes to their experience of being flown to Las Vegas to watch the LOVE Cirque du Soleil and meet the performers backstage.

The special guests were: Maroon 5 and Bo Bice. They were both okay, nothing special. Adam Levine was lookin' pretty hot though!

The bottom two Idol wannabes were:

  • Syesha Mercado
  • Jason Castro
And the contestant to get the boot was...

Aw, poor Jason! I really like him. He didn't perform very well the past few weeks, but I still find him enjoyable to watch anyway. But someone had to go and so it's basically down to the two Davids. Syesha should be proud of herself to make it to the Top 3 - I certainly didn't think it would've happened.

Syesha Mercado Ends Up Full of Tears After Singing Sam Cook

Syesha Mercado sang "A Change is Gonna Come" by Sam Cook and started bawling her eyes out after Randy Jackson gave her feedback. Ryan Seacrest called him a buzzkill. Hilarious!

American Idol 7 Top 4 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

American Idol's top four finalists performed songs from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Here's a review of the songs they sang.

  • David Cook - surprisingly his performance of "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran wasn't too impressive. He should've picked a different song to make sound original. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a wow either.
  • Syesha Mercado - I was scared for her when she said in the introduction video clip that she was doing Tina Turner's "Proud Mary." What a bad choice for her! Tina Turner has a powerful, deep tone to her voice which is very different from Syesha's. She should've chosen to do the Supremes instead because that would've been a better fit. She looked great during the performance though. I'm starting to sound like Paula Abdul now eh?
  • Jason Castro - looked like he was having such a great time doing "I Shot the Sheriff" by Bob Marley. It wasn't as bad as Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell were making it sound. His performance wasn't out of this world, but it was definitely okay to me.
  • David Archuleta - sang "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King and it was the best performance so far.
  • David Cook - I was a little worried in the beginning when he said he was performing "Baba O'Riley" by the legendary rockers The Who, but David didn't disappoint. It was a great rendition that he should be proud of.
  • Syesha Mercado - sang "A Change is Going to Come" by Sam Cook. It was better than the first song, but because it was a slower song, I'm not sure the viewers could really connect. It felt like she oversang some of the notes. The shocker was when Syesha started bawling her eyes out after Randy gave her feedback. Simon didn't have the heart to agree with Randy and so he told her he agreed with Paula who gave her some compliments about her voice. It was hilarious how defensive Randy got when Ryan Seacrest started joking with him about being a buzzkill.
  • Jason Castro - he started out so well with "Mr. Tambourine Man" by Bob Dylan but then he forgot a few lines and that just ruined the performance. Simon told him to pack his bags. Poor guy - he really took a beating from the judges tonight!
  • David Archuleta - closed the show with "Love Me Tender" by Elvis Presley. It was nice and sincere. I disagree with Simon's statement that he not only beat the competition, he crushed them tonight. He did a great job tonight, but it wasn't as superb as the judges tried to make it out to be. At least his daddy was probably happy.

Favorite tonight: David Archuleta
Prediction of who will get the boot: Jason Castro (However, I'd prefer it were Syesha Mercado. I actually like Syesha but I wasn't crazy about her performances tonight.)

Brooke White Is Still Annoying

Brooke White is still annoying! Yesterday a paparazzo caught up with her and asked her few questions. She answered some of his questions and confirmed that her annoying facial expressions were not just for the judges. When she got tired of answering his questions she told him that she was on voice rest. Wouldn't it be great if she just give her voice a rest? a rest forever that is!

American Idol Final Four Attend The Beatles LOVE

American Idol final four Jason Castro, Syesha Mercado, David Cook and David Archuleta attended The Beatles LOVE by Cirque Du Soleil at the Mirage in Las Vegas on Saturday.

I hope that they were sent there just as a treat and that does not mean that they are going to perform more Beatles song. Seeing them butcher The Beatles songs for two weeks in a row was enough!
