Christie Brinkley says she forgives Diana Bianchi, the teenager who was involved with her husband Peter Cook because she believes Bianchi was manipulated.

Christie revealed that she found out about her husband’s affair with his 18-year-old assistant when her stepfather shocked her with the news at a public event in 2006. Ouch! However, she insists she doesn’t wish any ill-will towards Bianchi:

“I’d just like to say, after two days of testimony, that I can’t help but think about Diana Bianchi, and I want her and her family to know that I feel really badly for them. I feel bad for her and I forgive her completely. She was manipulated.”

Apparently Bianchi has felt bad about the affair with reports suggesting she approached Christie’s 20-year-old daughter Alexa Joel to apologize. A source said:

“Diana said, ‘I am sorry for the pain I have caused you and your family.’”

The trial has been tough on Christie. She stated:

“Today was really difficult, reliving all the horrors.”

The couple are battling for sole custody of their two songs Jack, 13 and Sailor, 10.

It’s likely that Christie would win custody since he had an affair if there isn’t anything to prove she’s an unfit mother, but still, it’s always sad for the kids. Even though he seems like a complete jerk, he’s still the father to those kids and I hope they can figure out what’s really in the kids’ best interest.
