Roger Clemens Apologizes As Affair with Angela Moyer Becomes Public

Roger Clemens has apologized on Monday for unspecified mistakes in his personal life but denied having an affair with a 15-year-old. As mentioned before, Clemens allegedly had a decade-long relationship with country star Mindy McCready that began when she was only 15. He was also recently linked to John Daly's ex-wife Paulette Dean Daly.

Now the New York Daily News has linked the Yankees pitcher to a former Manhattan bartender, Angela Moyerl. Clemens said in a statement by his rep Patrick Dorton which was first reported by the Houston Chronicle:
"Even though these articles contain many false accusations and mistakes, I need to say that I have made mistakes in my personal life for which I am sorry. I have apologized to my family and apologize to my fans. Like everyone, I have flaws. I have sometimes made choices which have not been right."

Clemens has continued to deny the use of steroids and human growth hormone. He filed a defamation suit against Brian McNamee. Clemens insisted:
"I believe my personal life has nothing to do with the accusations of steroid and HGH use. I have already made clear that I did not use them. Now, I have been accused of having an improper relationship with a 15-year old girl. Nothing could be further from the truth. This relationship has been twisted and distorted far beyond reality. It is just one of many, many accusations that are utterly false. I realize that many people want me to simply confess and apologize for the conduct that I have been accused of, but I cannot confess to, nor apologize for, things I did not do. I have apologized to my family for my mistakes, and having offered this apology to the public, I would ask that you let me and my family deal with these matters in private."

Rusty Hardin, attorney for Clemens will discuss whether he should still follow with the lawsuit against McNamee in light of all the bad press. As the saying goes, "when it rains, it pours" and it's definitely pouring down on Clemens. It looks like karma is biting him in the ass now. Ouch.

In the beginning of all of this, I found it difficult to believe he would lie about his use of steroids because it sounded a little strange that McNamee saved evidence, but now, Clemens is looking like a jerk who had this coming to him. He should just come clean and get it over with because the dirt seems never ending.
