Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus appeared in photos in an article in Vanity Fair from the German online edition. The photos were taken by photographer Annie Leibovitz. The pictures are captioned in German without translation, but if you’d like to check out all of the photos, go here.

I think it is ridiculous that the picture with the ’satin sheet’ was taken. Considering her age, the photographer must have not been thinking. I think the photographer was that Annie L. This should not be something Cyrus considers a mistake, but something the photographer should be highly embarassed and questioned about. If I had a daughter, and she was this age and was in a photo like this, I would have a problem. Maybe it would be more appropriate in a few years, but Annie, have you lost your Fu$%ing mind? I mean, at some point, you have to ask yourself if it is a good idea for the subject of your photo, and not just a money maker for you!
I’m surprised as it being Vanity Fair that is bringing these underage provocative pics out. Normally they produce decent good taste pictures. Someone let these ones slip under the radar and should answer for that.

Personally, I dont find this surprising.. But not on Miley’s part. My guess is,. cyrus trusted this photographer’s judgement, and got burned. We all know that everytime a new pop star emerges, everyone is just waiting for them to turn sex god, and this photographer knew it. You can get a lot of glory by screwing someone else over, and they took that chance as soon as it hit them.
Maybe she thought that the sheet pose would be beautiful… Maybe the only country video she’s ever seen was Fatih Hill’s “Breathe” and she thought that was the way country folks like to be pictured…
To Cyrus: girl, I’m sorry you had to brought up in all of this.
And about the photos in her underwear… Get over yourselves, guys. It’s nothing thousands of young girls have their myspaces RIGHT NOW. Just because she’s famous, she can’t have fun like a normal 15 year old girl.
I saw the pic and didn’t really even think anything of it. I think if it didn’t even make it on the radar screen it wouldn’t have been a discussion point. I think that we blow things WAY out of proportion in the USA.
Granted, I wouldn’t want my daughter in that pose, but I wouldn’t have let her do it.
First, PROVOCATIVE and underage…NOT illegal. Remember Brooke Shields? Second, it is safe to assume that MC’s parents had a say in the shoot. Third, SEX SELLS! VF likely wanted something sexy, and NOBODY knows what was in MC’s or her parents minds. PERSONALLY, I like the shot with the sheet and do not find it overly provocative… as someone said, Less than what you see on facebook these days.
Funny… I made a prediction about this sort of thing happening a long time ago.
I have nothing against Miley. She can do what she likes. But I’m having a very hard time accepting the idea that’s “apologizing” for the pics. I hadn’t even HEARD of them until she apoligized. Sounds like a marketing scheme to me.
Remember how much fame the girl from HSM got? Miley figured out a way to get just as much.
With that being said… people ought to get off her back.

If you are a 15 year old girl that poses nearly naked for magazines, and also is on film tonguing one of your girlfriends, yes, I guess you are going to be “popular.” Not the kind of popularity one may necessarily want just to make a buck. Bet Woody Allen will offer her a movie role, no? No more Miley (or any Cyrus) for my family. Glad we couldn’t afford the $800.00 concert tickets-guess we got the last laugh after all!

I’m very liberal minded, but people are mad because the 15 year old has a satin sheet wrapped around her (seemingly) nude body. Hair looks like she just got done rolling around in bed. The sexual undertone is clear and a completely opposite direction from her ‘wholesome’ persona.
I love the picture its very artistic. People are making such a big deal about it. Its not like the girl is showing any private parts of her boddy. If you find this picture disturbing, then you simply have a dirty mind. Also let’s not forget we were young too… and if you think simply because this picture came out, your kids are going to go wild…its not the picture’s fault its yours.
I like it. You see, we are still stuck in the ‘modern’ way of thinking, that kids are still kids. When you see the Internet revolution take hold of kids like it has, it is obvious that they are growing up fast and furious. Technically speaking, that is, scientifically speaking, a girl becomes a woman when she starts menstruating. This has been the age-old definition of womanhood that stood until the industrial revolution. As life is cyclic, we seem to be going back to that period, and as such, this woman posing with a bare back doesn’t bother me one bit nor should it for anybody else, unless of course you are unable to understand human history and/or are cursed with a narrow mind.

This was her choice and it’s not like she posed completely nude for Playboy, she was under a satin sheet with jeans on for a Vanity Fair, a classy magazine targeted at females. This wasn’t to get guys to buy this magazine or follow up on the saying “Sex sells.” and I honestly don’t think that Miley Cyrus wanted all of this gossip to come out of an artistic photo shoot. She is only 15, but her Disney Channel phase is coming to an end and she is growing up. She’s a teenager and she is just trying to find herself and where she should be in the world, whether it be a model, actress, singer or anything else. If this photo shoot made her happy that’s all that mattered. And quite honestly when I saw this picture I thought “This is what everyone is talking about? Is this the right picture for sure?” And it was, and I don’t think it was “very risque.” This is completely blown out of proportion. Leave Miley Cyrus alone!

The point is miley is COVERED and though she looks like she’s grasping the ’shirt’ to cover herself, the truth is, the item is actually clinging to her. it’s just a photo! Yes, Vanity Fair is a distasteful choice for Miley’s parents and publicists, but this poor girl is just a victim of the magazine, which is desperately looking for media attention and a way to sell magazines!! I just hope Miley will stay strong and push past this stupid ordeal

Why is everyone freaking out about this? Yeah she is 15 years old and she is very beautiful what do you expect. I thought the picture was amazing and i’m very proud of her for being able to come out of her shell and showing her natural beauty. And knowing her father, you know he wouldn’t have allowed the photo shoot to go on if he thought is little girl was going to look like she was naked or too sexy. She isn’t pregnant, doing drugs, and getting wasted at clubs. So there is nothing to worry about. Every girl under 17 loves Miley and i think out of all the under age girls that are famous, she has presented herself very well.
It looks to me, by many of the comments here stating that there is nothing wrong with the provocative pics, that many of you are probably teen-agers or have no children. I say that because no parent in their right mind would allow a provocative pic of their daughter be printed in a magazine that will be circulated all over the world.
