photo courtesy of PR Photos/www.prphotos.comDanny Federici, the longtime keyboard player for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band died Thursday, April 17, 2008. He was only 58 years old.
Federici lost his three-year battle with melanoma and passed away at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Bruce Springsteen's official website announced the news of his death on Thursday:
"Danny and I worked together for 40 years — he was the most wonderfully fluid keyboard player and a pure natural musician. I loved him very much ... we grew up together."
Danny's last performance with The Boss and the band was last month as he appeared during portions of a show on March 20 in Indianapolis.
How terribly sad. Too many of the great musicians are leaving us much too soon.
Rest in peace The Phantom.
