Tom Cruise Church of Scientology Strikes Back

Tom Cruise’s church is reportedly launching a counterattack against an anonymous group that has been harassing it. This group who calls itself “Anonymous” have been bombarding Scientology churches across America with prank calls, bomb threats, and cyber attacks since January. The church has fought back by posting YouTube videos under the title “Anonymous Facts,” which detail the death threats from Anyonymous and identifying its members, calling them terrorists. You can see the video here.

The main four-minute-long video, titled “Anonymous - Hate Crimes and Terrorism Directed at Scientology” - is described as the “Scientology Official Report on Anonymous Hate Crimes.”

The narrator names men they claim are members of the group:

“Any Anonymous member may be an accessory to these criminal acts. Many of their identities are known.”

A spokesperson for the Church of Scientology proudly stated:

“We absolutely made the videos. We have researchers that have found these men. When you get death threats and bomb threats directly going after the church, we don’t take it lightly.”

While the videos & protests seem really lame, it’s equally lame that the Church of Scientology would bring so much attention to them rather than just work with the police if they really feel threatened. Because of their “counterattack,” Anonymous is likely to gain more members.

many threats are done by Scientology itself.

Get your facts straight before you write. This is almost as bad as the Main Stream Media who purposely distort facts or not bother doing research before releasing to the public.

Keep up the good work!

You should really do some more research on this particular matter, while I dont particularly care for either side. CoS definitely conjured up a lot of the death threats/bomb scares. Anon is smarter than to physically threaten anyone, thats really not their style.

Uh… since “Anonymous” is a non-group that anyone is free to join on their own and use the name themselves, how can you say “Anon is smarter than to physically threaten anyone, thats really not their style”? The various members of “Anonymous” can’t agree on anything - some want to keep it peaceful while others have actually gone on record as stating that Scientologists need to be taken out and shot, and all the books burned. Seriously. That’s fucked up.

The whole hornet’s nest “Anonymous” has stirred up isn’t accomplishing much besides harassing the vast majority of innocent Scientologists who’ve never even met David Miscavige and who have no control over what machinations go on behind closed doors at Gold Base. Miscavige is the problem, NOT Scientology itself.

F*CK Scientology and all its brain-warped apologists and followers.

Since scientology has a long history of makingthreats against itself (just google Paulette Copper for a start) you can hardly say that Anonymous has made bomb threats against them. There is no evidence against anonymous. In fact the only evidence of these threats, points to them being fabricated by the cult. For example a video that contained CoS material that could only have been accessed by someone inside the CoS.

I can’t speak as to the death threats ect. however I personally witnessed a group protesting outside one of the Cos buildings last Saturday as I drove by. There were about 15 young people standing with signs at the corners of an intersection the church was on. The police were right there watching the situation. It looked peaceful to me. Who knows who is behind it though. Maybe the CoS itself as some have said. If the group is harrassing the CoS illegally, I doubt they would show their faces right outside their door and they definitely would not be talking to the police while protesting.
