Eliot Spitzer Could Be Replaced By Lt. Governor David Paterson Soon
After the news broke earlier today that Governor Eliot Spitzer was linked to a high-priced prostitution ring, attention has been on lieutenant governor, David Paterson who is in line to be the third black governor and first in New York, according to the Associated Press. Director of Quinnipiac University’s Polling Institute and New York political reporter, Maurice Carroll said:
“He’s the next governor and probably quite soon.”
However, Spitzer only issued a vague apology in front of reporters with no mention of a resignation. Paterson will automatically become governor to complete Spitzer’s term through December 31, 2010 if Spitzer quits.
Spitzer should’ve resigned as soon as he made an appearance to publicly apologize for his scandal. I can’t imagine the humiliation his family is going through right now…he should just get it over with quickly and crawl under a rock.

Mr. Spitzer, I have detested what you stand for ever since you included me, a reputable small business owner in Colorado, in your attack on the insurance industry. You tried to include those with integrity and honesty into your crusade of criminals. The term hypocrite doesn’t do you justice. It does, however, makes sense that you would have to pay $5,000 to persuade anyone to touch you. Hope you enjoyed life at the top, because from here on out, you’re going nothing but down.
