Jay-Z Not Being Played On the Radio?
photo courtesy of PR Photos/www.prphotos.comJay-Z is reportedly struggling with promotion of his latest album. The rapper is said to be having difficulties in getting support for his new album, “American Gangster.” According to a source for NYP Page Six:
“He is scrambling - the first single, Blue Magic, isn’t being played on radio. It’s the first time in his career he’s not doing well.”
To promote the album, Jay-Z will performlive on VH1’s “Storytell ers” on Thursday. The source also revealed that he will tour to “create buzz,” and Def Jam shelled out $500,000 for the first video.
However, a spokesman for the retired rapper insists reports are unfounded. The rep says,
“It’s not true at all. It’s a conceptual album, so we’re not focusing on one single.”
I wonder if Jay-Z is wishing he stayed retired now. It’s not like he needs the money and it could be very embarrassing if he doesn’t do well.
