Britney Spears Lousy VMAs Performance
As mentioned before, Britney Spears opened the VMAs tonight which was supposed to mark Britney’s musical comeback and instead marked her continuous downfall. It looked like celebrity audience members were embarrassed for her when she appeared to miss a step in her dance routine which caused Britney’s nervous laugh. It seemed like she was dancing out of sync, if you can call the way she was moving dancing because she was basically only walking around the stage. Her skimpy outfit didn’t seem to compliment her figure. Maybe it would have when she was 18 but not anymore. On top of her disastrous dance routine, she was obviously lip-syncing and not even doing a good job at that. Even Ashlee Simpson lip-syncs better!
And what was all the hype with working with Criss Angel about? She was supposed to have some special effects such as disappearing. I was hoping she would disappear and never come back, but that didn’t happen.
Poor Brit-Brit, it just wasn’t good enough. Even Sarah Silverman implied Brit’s career is over.

I don’t think it was just Britney the show just sucks…all of the lip syncing sucked. Chris Brown’s only redeeming factor was that he could dance and that is what made his performance. Come on the production of the show sucked.

I think Britney’s new song is awesome, so I don’t understand how she didn’t rock that song out. The dancers were awesome so at least we all got to see what the dance she was doing was supposed to look like. She also should have worn something else because it really seemed like she just felt completely uncomfortable with herself up there. This was her big chance, I really wish she took it and ran with it. And wasn’t she supposed to perform 2 songs?

She sucked a fat one bad tonite… she looked like a washed out stripper that should’ve started waitressing a LOOOONG time ago. If it wasn’t for her ridiculous outfit, she would’ve blended right in with the backup dancers… she didn’t own the stage. And I’m not hating, I’m stating… stating the facts baby, that’s what I do. I would’ve LOVED to see her get up there and blow everybody’s minds… but instead she added more fuel to the flames. If she was smart, she would’ve quit while she was still ahead and ventured into other business’.. but she just aint a business savvy bitch!! You can’t rock the limelight forever baby, a real lady ALWAYS knows when to leave…

I feel so bad for Britney Spears. Her performance tonight at the MTV VMAs was god awful! There was no energy, she looked chubby for what she should be considering her profession, she just wasn’t feeling it, and she lip synched like a mofo. She seemed distracted and almost lost.
I was sincerely rooting for her too.

Everyone will remember where they were the day of the final nail being placed in her career’s coffin. This was not her comeback…this was her retirement party.
britney pretty much blew a fat one on the stage. was she drugged? she looked sad. whats with that hair-do, does she not realize that she looks like shit? the reason MTV invited her was because they knew it would get the most people to tune-in to watch her make an ass out of herself. I wish everybody would just leave her alone. What do all of you people leaving blogs on here do for a living? You can’t possibly understand what she has been through and she was probably extremely nervous tonight. How long has it been since she performed at the VMA’s or any other major production for that matter? If you had the eyes of the entire world on you would you make a few mistakes? I think she was brave to perform tonight. Everybody is so critical of her and she got up there on stage anyway. Give her some credit!!!!!!!!!

I guess you’ve all said most of it—–it wasn’t good. One thing Britney always had was energy. Tonight there was none. She looked unsure of the dance moves, she could have really used more preparation time. She looked pretty hot from the waist up, but her legs looked fat. I really wanted her to be good tonight. She wasn’t close to being good.
I hope the next time she does a live performance, she’s ready to give it a lot more energy and rehearses her butt off.I don’t want to write her off yet.
Wow. I was so underwhelmed. I had just finished watching Justin Timberlake at Madison Square Garden on HBO when the VMA’s started. It is hard to believe that they were ever a couple! He was so centered on his craft, and his stage presence just blew me away! She is just (sadly) laughable. My gradeschoolers write and perform better songs than Britney. (Just FYI, their most recent song is a 5 minute, screeching tribute to Pop-Tarts.)
What happens in Vegas, must stay in Vegas after this horrible show! Did someone pass out morphine before performances?

Britney is NOT fat. She’s shaped like a normal woman; however, she should NOT have worn that costume. It was not flattering. As well, it appears that she lost it. She screwed up in the beginning of her performance and never regained her confidence. It’s too bad. She’s not ready - she’s just not centered enough to return to the big stage.
I agree, Britney needs more healing. Maybe she’ll hone in on her own stengths. But, until then, she needs to take a serious hiatus from performing.

Ok I had to look this up online since evryone was talking about it. She looks like she is in a trance and forgot the dance moves or did she forget how to move and dance? Its like she was going thru the steps in her head and dancing as a rookie. Her extensions look horrible as the newspapers have said you can see where the tried to blend her hair in but its 2 different shades of blonde.
Its a shame her reputation is ruined from everything thats been going on from her divorce and now this! This should have been a huge come back. she should have done alot better, and wore a different outfit because she looked and moved as if she was uncomfortable and it showed!

Oh wow Britney. I was never a fan in the first place, but i did always admit that she at least gave what she did her all. She was a good dancer, & i can at least respect that.

Regardless of what we do for a living, she chose this herself. If you cant handle the pressure of being a performer - especially a teeny bopper pop start like that - then dont do it. I have no sympathy. she chose her path.

Kanye West blames MTV for Britney Spears’ less than stellar performance at the Video Music Awards.
“Man, they were just trying to get ratings, and they knew she wasn’t ready and they exploited her,” the 29-year-old rapper said Tuesday on Sirius Satellite Radio’s “The Morning Mash Up.”
The network made a “bad move” by having the troubled pop star open Sunday’s event in Las Vegas, said West, who feels he should have kicked off the show with “Stronger,” the first single from his new album, “Graduation.”
“They exploited her, they played me and I really don’t mess with MTV,” he said.
Spears, 25, looked unprepared while performing her new song, “Gimme More,” to a bewildered audience of her music industry peers. She seemed nervous and, at times, stopped singing altogether.
In a praise-filled statement released Tuesday afternoon, MTV said it “… has a long and collaborative relationship with Kanye and we hope and look forward to continuing that meaningful relationship.”
West said he wanted to perform “Stronger” on the show’s main stage — where R&B hotshot Chris Brown wowed the crowd with Michael Jackson-esque dance moves — but complied when he was asked to host a suite party.
West said it was a blow to the ego when Justin Timberlake, who also hosted a suite party, ended up “on the big stage” to give the closing performance with Timbaland and Nelly Furtado.
“Those are the big things, and you know what I do man, I really made the song ‘Stronger,’ you know, for stadiums,” he said.
West — who threw a tantrum backstage after losing all five categories for which he was nominated — said he has bonded with 50 Cent over what they view as disrespectful behavior from MTV.
“So why do you have me do ‘Stronger’ in a suite, but you end the show with Justin?” he said. “I looked at 50 like, yo, we need to help each other as much as possible.”
50 Cent has said he’d stop making solo records if West’s new album outsells his “Curtis” CD in their first week out. Both albums were released Tuesday.
Britney is such a nasty slob. No one wants to see a mother up there dressed like that….nasty.

I’m not a Britney Spears fan. She was not ready to do that performance at the VMAs. I do have to agree with the comments that they have exploited Britney and whoever’s managing her should have advised her not to do that performance. She was not ready for that kind of come back…she has more importanct issues (like her children, her mental health and well-being, her divorce process) to address first than focusing on her “comeback”. It was too soon. I think think she truly needs take care of herself and family first before doing anything else. That’s why she was not in “full-force”, because she knows what everyone was thinking. I feel for her…and she has a lot more growing up to do. It’s too bad she doesn’t have a better support system.
Like I stated, I’m not a Britney Spears fan, I wish the very best for her! I would like to see her comeback when she is good and ready!
man, it hurt to watch that performance. it just SUCKED! i’ve always been a britney fan and i was so rooting for her and i am soo disappointed. she should have made this her comeback and prove all those critics wrong but she just made herself look like worse. the song was awesome cause i just heard it on the radio but her performance was just pitiful. i felt sorry for her cause she looked so uncomfortable and lost. i really hope she gets her shit together or else she becomes a washed-out hasbeen if she’s not one already.
She’d do all right in a third-rate strip club.
