T.R. Knight Should’ve Been Fired Instead?
Aug. 06 - Mathew Imaging/FilmMagic.comIsaiah Washington is apparently blaming the victim because of his termination from Grey’s Anatomy and has the gall to suggest that T.R. Knight should have been fired by ABC instead. He said:
“They fired the wrong guy.”
During a telephone interview with the Houston Chronicle, Washington claimed that Knight was the one who decided to broadcast the idea that the slur was targeted at him and thus created a negative work environment. He accused Knight of wanting a salary increase and a more meaningful role. In regards to Knight’s appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where he revealed that Washington used his sexuality against him, Washington asserts:
“That’s a lie. I used the word during a disagreement with Patrick. I apologized for that. We shook hands and went back to work.”
Washington pointed out that he also participated in a public service announcement where he spoke out against homophobic, racist and sexist language:
“I did everything I said I would do. I offered to go to counseling, to do a public service announcement. I wanted everyone to know I was remorseful.”
He says that he was shocked when he found out that ABC would not renew his contract:
“That was a shock. I did everything they told me to do, including not saying anything, and then they didn’t renew my contract. That’s not fair.”
Washington went on to say that he made three errors in judgment:
“believing the cast of Grey’s Anatomy were like family; believing I had the freedom to express myself with family and that we could resolve our issues; and trusting ABC was going to take care of me.”
When Washington found out that he was fired, he released a statement saying:
I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore.”
Now he says:
“I’m not angry. I’m disappointed.”
Washington revealed that he is considering filing a lawsuit.
“I have to clear my name. My livelihood, my honor and dignity and my name have been so challenged.”
I wonder who gave him advice to say these things! Talk about digging a deeper grave. If I were his publicist, I’d just tell him to shut the f**k up already. Okay, so he did whatever they told him to do: apologize, star in a PSA, whatever…but to blame the person that he caused harm to is just over the top! What a jerk.

He’s an idiot to open his mouth like that. I guess he really doesn’t want to work in Hollywood!
you idiots, has it even occured to you that there may be a slice of truth in washingtons version of the story? no one goes to all that trouble over a lie. yeah so it probably would be better if he learned to be more tactful but if anyone got accused of something false they have the right to defend themselves. in the end washington and TR knight are both idiots but they’re different kinds of idiots. washington is the type of idiot i’d like to slap a gag on while tr knight is the type of idiot I’d just plain like to slap. if you listen to tr knight’s interview on the ellen degeneres show you’ll see that he’s probably the one lying. he deferred her questions so many times choosing to talk more about her than about the incident. its never right to call anybody a f**t so I’m not gonna call tr knight that but he’s such a little bitch who is also a liar. makes me want to punch him and I’m a girl so I cant imagine what guys’d wanna do to him. i figure he’d prolly die from a punch so I’ll have to settle with thinking how nice or atleast funny it would be if someone gave him a nice ol slap… it’d put some hair on his girly chest!… make a man out of him!
