Awards worth mentioning
The Oscar’s was really long last night, ending past 12am!
Nice to see Jennifer Hudson take the Best Supporting Actress. Helen Mirren was no surprise for Best Actress.
It was a little shocking to see that both Eddie Murphy & Dijmon Hounsou both got shut out for the Best Supporting Actor. The actor, Alan Arkin, probably deserved it - didn’t watch the movie.
However, the best acceptance speech of the night goes to Forest Whitaker when he received the nod for Best Actor though - he was awesome! Too bad for Peter O’Toole. I thought he might just get it because he’s so old & the voters would have felt sorry for him.
Martin Scorcese winning for Best Director was a no brainer. I think he would have had a hissy fit if he didn’t get it. The Departed imho really deserved the Best Picture award though.
Cheers to the winners! Sorry to the losers, there’s always next time, maybe not for Peter O’Toole, but you never know.
